I mistakenly deleted 90% of my MP3 collection. They're all still synched with iTunes Match, thankfully. I was wondering if it was possible to re-download all of the files from the Match servers to my computer, kinda using it as cloud storage of my music collection...??
I managed to do it with one track as a test, but this required me to
* Attempt to play the track (with the little '!' icon next to it denoting the fact that the file couldn't be located)
* When asked if I wanted to locate the file, click 'cancel'
* Song started to play via iTunes Match
* I could then click the 'iCloud' icon to download the file to my hard drive as an .m4a (not ideal but I can always convert this later....)
So I know that it is feasibly possible, I'm just wondering whether I can then automate this process for the other 150GB (approx) of my music collection that was lost.....??
