    Hello All:

I am a new ibook owner that got a really good deal on a 700 ibook g3.
problem is, I don't have any of the software and I need to change the password which I don't have. I have searched the web and really don't know what I need to order, I know I need to change the password and would like to be able to update it with the latest upgrades. Does anyone know of any sites or wherever I can purchase the needed disks to accomplish this task. it's the white opaque ibook 700 mhz g3 with 30gb HD and dvd player 16 VRAM OS X

Any info on the matter would be SO helpful!!

Get on Ebay find yourself OS X 10.4 Tiger. Boot off the Tiger disk by holding down 'C' whilst booting with the disk in. Go to disk utilities from the top menu drop downs, reformat the HD. Continue with the fresh Tiger instal. It will take about 30-45 mins dependent on the languages and printer drives installed.

Don't bother with the original disks as they will have 10.1 or 10.2 at best, either way most OS X programs require a minimum of 10.3
