Anyone know of a better way to restore downloaded Apple Music tracks while backing up and restoring to a new iPhone? I thought the manual, encrypted backup to a local Mac would save the downloads but it doesn't.

As far as I can see, I have to manually download all the tracks to the new phone. Is there a better way?

I'd like to know this as well. Hate having to redownload 70Gbs of music every year, and the phone always getting super hot while I spread out the downloads over 2 weeks not to make the phone run like crap.

It is very annoying, and this is the best workaround that I've found. At least it keeps me from having to tap each individual track to download.

I do something similar. I just create temporary alphabetically sorted playlists like A-J and drag all tracks by artists in that range. When the new playlist shows up on the phone, I select download playlist. I like to break up the the download into 3-4 playlists so I can better deal with errors. After finishing the download, I just delete the playlists.

It's still a pain to have to do this with each new iPhone or if I ever need to restore a backup.
