I've tried creating a Lion key drive about 5 times with 3 different key drives. I've followed the directions here:

http://www.macworld.com/article/1160124/osxflashdrive.html

However I am getting an error message almost as soon as the Disk Utility app has almost finished restoring the image. When Disc Utility is done the key drive is no longer present on the desktop however it still shows in Disc Utility. So I eject the key drive within Disc Utility and remove the drive, put it back in the USB port and it appears to show it as a OSX Lion install disc. Ideas on what to do? Do you think it created it fine?

Here is a screen shot of the message:

Did you format the USB drive properly with Disk Utility?

Presuming the USB drive was formatted correctly, I would suggest re-downloading Lion from the Mac App Store and then trying again. It's rather rare, but it's possible your download is corrupted or maybe it wasn't completed for some reason.

Thanks however, I've already tried that but forgot to post it.

Even after re-downloading it again. I decided to try and burn it to a dvd (single layer DVD-R) and when I click on burn in Disc Utility...it says

"Unable to burn InstallESD.dmg." (Invalid Checksum)
