Guys, if I restore my jailbroken iPhone 7 from backup will I lose my current iOS 12.1.2?

Also, if I do restore, will all my settings also be restored?

Yes to both questions.

Are you sure about that? AFAIK the backups don't store OS data, only user data, so you can take data from an old backup onto a new OS without it downgrading the OS

Similarly, you can't use a backup made on iOS 12.2 on a device running 12.1, because the data may not work on the reduced feature set, and the OS data isn't there to upgrade at time of restore.

I’m pretty sure. I restored my backup from iOS 12.1.4 and it automatically upgraded to 12.2. The only way to avoid upgrading that I can think of is if you downloaded the ipsw file, but even with that, Apple is no longer signing 12.1.2.

I agree with the second part of what you said. Most times you cannot put a new backup on an old iOS if you’re trying to roll back or whatever is the case.

Thanks guys. If I begin the process to restore from backup and then am prompted on iTunes that by doing so my iOS will be updated to the latest firmware, will I be able to stop the process going any further?
