Restore from backup on a different phone

I have a 3GS that is on 4.3.3 and just got a second 3GS that is on 4.1. I have already connected the 4.1 to iTunes and set it up as a new phone. Unfortunately, now I am thinking that I may want to use it as my new phone since its battery is much better. However, when I try to restore from backup, it will not let choose from the backup of my 4.3.3 phone. Is there any way to get the information/identification of the 4.1 phone in iTunes deleted so that I can reconnect it to iTunes as if it were the first time I was connecting it on my computer, and then restore my latest 4.3.3 backup on it?

You should be able to restore it when updating to 4.3.3, because the Backup is of fw 4.3.3.
