I have a jailbroke 3gs running 5.0.1 and I want to give it somebody else to use. What is the best way to wipe it clean but keep it jailbroke?

Manually delete your data or restore it as new and re jailbreak it.

And restoring to 5.0.1 requires both the 5.0.1 hash and APTicket file having been previously saved.

Sign out of iTunes, when you restore, choose set up as new, re-JB right away after restore

Thanks for the quick replies!
If I restore as new and re jailbreak, cant I just re jailbreak following the same procedure as the first time? The first time I followed the tutorial on everythingapplepro for 3gs 5.0.1.
Thanks again for any help

Yes, once restored, a simple jailbreak will do.

Sorry for all the newbee questions but here is another one. If I restore today, wont I have to restore to the lastest os 5.1? And will that cause any trouble for me trying to do a re jailbreak to 5.01?

Use TinyUmbrella and Redsn0w to preserve your iOS version. iclarified.com has tutorials for that.
