Restored iPad to iOS 6.1.3. Lost all game progress

I have backups before and after the iOS 7 update but when I restored back to iOS 6 and then restored backup all game progress was lost. Any ideas?
 
Did you restored and then installed the game? If so, restore the backup again. In my experience, you have to have the game installed BEFORE you restore from backup.
