I created a custom 4.0 ipsw w/ PwnageTool 4 and restored with itunes 9.2. The restore went fine but no AT&T and I can't make a call?

What to do? Restore again?

you need to re-build the .ispw file with pwnagetool 4.0, and uncheck "activate phone". you'll still keep your baseband, but it will allow your phone to work with at&t now.

hope that helps.

I'll try that...thanks...

Same thing happened to me. I rebuilt another file but now my phone will not go back into restore mode. I hold the home button and nothing happens. Any ideas???

I've been having trouble all day just trying to get PwnageTool to create my custom ipsw. After 10-12 time of getting a "FAIL" I finally got it to work. Then I restored it in iPhone...and didn't get a phone carrier.

That's when I started the thread. Now I've tried another 6-8 time to create the custom ipsw and I keep getting the PwnageTool "FAIL".

This is killing me!

I've never had trouble with PwnageTool before!!!

But what does the "Activate phone" mean then?

Btw, I'm having the same problem but I made my IPSW file with the activate phone ticked. Will recreate it once I get home from work.
