Restoring 3GS 3.1.2 (7D11)

Hello,


I currently have a jailbroken 3GS running on 3.1.2 (7D11). I am having many issues with it and need to restore it, however iTunes will only let me restore if I update to 3.1.3.

Is there a way around this?

If you can create or have a friend create a custom ipsw with pwnage tool, you can do the Shift + Restore on iTunes and select that ipsw for the restore. I recommend pwnage as the best tool to use. If you don't have a mac, have a friend create it or let you borrow their machine.

I would look for a tutorial on http://www.clarified.com. It has been updated to 3.1.3 but it is the exact same process for 3.1.2. Because you are already jailbroken you could do either. I'm on 3.1.3 with pwnage tool myself.

turn off then on again if you dont have to re-jailbreak that the old bootrom

That is not your bootrom, that is your modem firmware.
