Restoring a backup in a used macbook pro

I have bought a used macbook pro and I have a external hard disk drive with a backup from my previous macbook, both of them works on Yosemite. How can I transfer everything using Time Machine to this last macbook that I have got recently.

You don't need Time Machine. Just run Migration Assistant on your new MacBook while connected to the hard drive that has the backup. Tell MA that's where you want to transfer from.

Thanks for replying, well since I am new to this thing can you please tell me how to run this Migration Assistance on this used Macbook, and also I did not get that thing about MA!

If you're running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.10 (Yosemite) on the used MacBook then follow this Apple support page explaining how to use Migration Assistant. It's a super easy process and it will copy your information from the hard drive your Time Machine backup is on. (make sure to scroll down to the section labeled "Migrate from a Time Machine backup or external drive")
