restoring backup from other phone

Hi all,

I have two iPhone 4's with iOS 5 installed. I want to restore a backup on one iPhone to another to test some stuff and switch back by restoring the correct backup.

The question is, will this work? Or will it brick my device?

The question is, will this work? Or will it brick my device?

Theoretically, it should work, as long as the backup isn't of a higher firmware (beta release number) than the phone you're restoring it to.
