So, I know the hard way of doing this with injecting the ipsw, but the end result is still kind of clunky. Are there any official methods yet of doing a clean install but retaining call history, imessage, and photos? I'll go with the clunker way but it's a little strange that Apple hasn't even attempted to address this. Reason: my 7+ has unexplained battery drain after clearing settings and p-resetting. I'm using a backup from my 6s+. All other performance is fine but the battery drain is giving me about 6-8 hours of use versus 10 hours on the previous device. Under 70% after 2.5 hours today off charge. Usage probably about 90 minutes with only Safari and Messages.
