Restoring data saved through Time Machine on formatted Mac

Hi there.

I am thinking of formatting my MBP and re-installing Leopard and everything from scratch.
Is there any way I could restore all data I have saved on my external hard drive (music and some applications etc.) through Time Machine 'automatically'? (that is, much like using the Migration Assistant, where everything goes to the same path, where it was copied from.)
