I used Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable disk image of my computer's hard drive. This image is stored on an external USB hard drive. Now I'd like to erase everything on the computer, and restore the computer with the disk image I have saved.

Seeing as though the external hard drive only has a USB connection (no Firewire), what's the easiest way to go about this?

why don't you use the restore-feature in the disk utility that comes with mac os x? it does a complete backup of the volume you chose to another drive that has at least enough space for this. you also can boot from that drive where you saved all this and restore it back to the original drive.

just go to the tools - disk utility and check the restore-feature. the first drive is that one you want to back up. the second one is where the stuff should be stored on.
