I recently installed the iOS 5 beta and I'm seeing all over these forums people comparing restoring and setting up as new when installing the beta. Can someone explain to me the difference?

Also, with my beta I'm having problems with my messaging app as its very buggy and glitchy, would setting up as new iPhone resolve this?

While I can't say for sure (I set up as new), it's usually a good idea with betas to set up as a new iPhone.

1st yes whenever installing a new OS set up as new if your going from one 4.3.3 to another 4.3.3 then you can restore but 4.3.3 to 5.0 b your better off setting up as new

also its a beta of course it is going to be glitchy thats the point to find report and fix glitches so do not ever expect beta to be perfect unless its gold master seed
