My battery life is miserable on my 4S with iOS 6. Went from 6 1/2 hour average usage to 5. I've had the since near launch so its since multiple OTA updates.

I'm thinking maybe a fresh copy of iOS will help but I'm finding so much conflicting stuff.

What I want to happen. Restore from new and not lose any of my contacts or pictures. I don't care about redownloading apps or losing app data.

Can someone for certain tell me how to do that and/or point me in the right direction.

Thanks guys, lol.

Anyway for those that search this. I just restored using iTunes for a fresh copy of iOS 6. Then used my cloud to get back my pics and contacts.

I'm not sure if its helped the battery yet but I currently have 57% with 2 hours and 45 minutes of usage. So it might be a bit better.

However the phone certainly feels faster. And in some areas I know it's faster. For example when I goto usage before I was able to take a screen shot before the apps above it would load. Now I can even scroll down before they are loaded.

Also and although I have everything loaded back on my phone I went from 3.9 gb iCloud back ups to 3.1 gb. Even more impressively my total phone store went from 7.4gb used to 5.3gb! More then 2 gb of I don't know what is gone. The "other" section iTunes under my iPhone went from 2.7 to 1.3 gb. Not sure what that "other" was but the majority of it is gone.
