So I've just bought an iPad 2, and when it says 'set up your iPad' there are two options: set up as a new ipad, and restore from the backup of (iphone). I'm wondering how to restore from a backup of jailbroken iphone. Do I first set it up as a new iPad, jailbreak, and then restore to jailbroken Iphone? Also is there a simple way to jailbreak the ipad like there is for the iphone?

Even if you restore a backup of a jailbroken device to a brand new one, the retail device will not be jailbroken. The jailbreak apps and data will not appear on a non-jailbroken device. The only jailbreak available for the iPad 2 is http://jailbreakme.com and it only works on iOS 4.3.3.
