So I've just bought an iPad 2, and when it says 'set up your iPad' there are two options: set up as a new ipad, and restore from the backup of (iphone). I'm wondering how to restore from a backup of jailbroken iphone. Do I first set it up as a new iPad, jailbreak, and then restore to jailbroken Iphone? Also is there a simple way to jailbreak the ipad like there is for the iphone?

If it's running 4.3.3, then go to jailbreakme. If not, then you're not able to jailbreak.

Even if you restore a backup of a jailbroken device to a brand new one, the retail device will not be jailbroken. The jailbreak apps and data will not appear on a non-jailbroken device. The only jailbreak available for the iPad 2 is and it only works on iOS 4.3.3.
