hi all,

Because I’m an idiot, I blindly followed a brief guide to removing CUDA from my system and one of the file links pointed to don’t steal Mac OS X.kext. I trashed it, thinking ‘what’s the worst that could happen’, and t turns out the worst thing is the computer completely refuses to boot.

I connected my drive to another Mac and copied the file from the trash to the extensions folder, reset pram, and... it still won’t boot.

Any ideas? I’d like to avoid reinstalling OS X if possible.

Tia

Hold CMD + R on startup. Select Reinstall macOS. Point it to your drive.

This will not affect or wipe any of your items or applications. It will just reinstall the OS features.

Hi Brian, Aside from deleting other cuda related stuff, yes...

That’s a really helpful tip keysofanxiety thanks, I’ll give it a go tonight!
