Restoring Whatsapp chats from iCloud

Hi guys

I recently backed up my chats through the app onto iCloud and then deleted and re-installed the app. Now when I choose the option to restore from iCloud it stops at 40% and the settings gear spin with a message saying restoring, it has been like this for the past 24 hours. Can anyone help as how to get my whatsapp chats back.

same problem here. restoring whatsapp from iCloud loads only halfway/gets stuck... even restarts itself once it's almost complete. help, anyone?

iOS 8.1.3 (12B466) on iphone 5, whatsapp version 2.11.16

seems like one of cloud bug, your whatsapp messages may be backed up to iTunes on you computer if you connected your iPhone to computer via USB cable before, please try recover from iTunes backup.
