Hi,

It would be useful to see a quick summary of how many likes, dislikes, laughs, etc. that a post has without having to click on it. It currently appears to list the first 2 or 3 reactions then requires one to open it up. This forum is so large, and it is not all that helpful to see which user gave what reaction. Rather, I mostly care how many of each reaction was given. And if desired, one can click on "list" to see who reacted with what.

I think the below image is a cleaner look.

Here is an example of the layout on another XenForo forum. One can quickly see at a glance the reactions to a post. I feel like you may be using the same XenForo plugin, but not sure.

Just a suggestion!

Thanks.

In my opinion, that looks awful. Multiply that by several posts on a single page and it will look like a rainbow explosion.
The way they're displaying now looks far superior to me. Of course I pay very little attention to likes on posts, so YMMV.
The image was just an example, I don't see why the current reaction icons could not be used. I think it would look similar to how Facebook also arranges the reactions. It focuses on what reactions people use rather than giving the username of the reactor.

I'm a big fan of less is more and I think that ideal fits here. I'd prefer a less busy screen and that increases the complixty - just my $.02

An option per user to switch off reactions would aid in the less is more. Its a rather unnecessary distraction to posts.

I'm torn, while you bring up a good point that if you want to see how the community has voted you need to click, your example gives a snapshot that doesn't really take up any additional real estate. However I do somewhat agree with @Darth.Titan, I don't feel its awful, but I agree that over the entire page/thread of posts it does become more of a distraction. Furthermore the "safe space" crowd will lose their minds if the negative icons get any more presence (but they sure love to use them!).

The current implementation is certainly clean and unobtrusive so my .02 says leave it as is but I appreciate your idea!

I understand and respect that. And maybe my argument is out of utility and not aesthetics.

But, to me, I think having the number of likes, wows, and anger would be much more simple and utilitarian than the below... I would argue that seeing the usernames typed out is not simple... and it certainly isn't practical as one has to click on the reaction to see how many of each were given.

But again, I get it. At the end of the day, aesthetics is subjective. But, I still think I would prefer the 2nd image with the number of each reaction... <laugh> x 2 <like> x 1

I understand. Like I said above, I probably am viewing it from a more utilitarian perspective. I clean design is always nice, especially on an Apple forum. I know we tend to value aesthetics a bit more. I lean towards no usernames, but, whatever! Was just a thought. :)
