SImple question, but I could';t find the answer anywhere online. :)

Anyone know what iMac configurations are available from the Apple Retail stores. Can you pickup OTC or order a 27" iMac with the faster processor, larger HD and faster graphics card from the Retail Apple Store or do I have to order online.

apple stores carry mostly the basic configs. Some stores participate in Apple's program where you can order online and pickup in store. best to call the store and ask what they have in stock.

They might want to swipe your credit card before they order one in.

Last time I was in the Apple retail store looking at the iMac, I was told they only carried the entry level configurations for the 21.5" and 27" models. The only thing they could upgrade for me was the memory. They were not even willing to swap a wireless keyboard for the wired keyboard that came with the system. I'd suggest buying online if you want to upgrade more than just the memory.

But, stores vary, so calling to find out what they have in stock might work too.
