Wacom-compatible digitizer with support for at least 1024 levels. In fact, I'd like to see that for all Apple tablets, not just the mini. If the iPad is going to continue to be touted as a viable visual content creation platform, a serious effort needs to be made to support the standard tools.

8. Better anodisation (or a silver polished bezel) on the black version - rather than risking scratches.
...
Funny I'm I don't see have a scratching issue on my iPad mini. Have you seen the issue with one you own or are you just repeating concerns you've read on the net? For all we know it's only a couple of people who have a scratching problem and it's because they're hard on their gear.

...
Stereo speakers
...
The iPad mini already has that.

You're saying the current Mini was 802.11 ac wireless and speakers on both the left and right of the unit!? Really!?

It should have four speakers. Two on each side and only use the top speaker on each side when you hold it in landscape mode. The way it is now my hand is always muffling one of the speakers.

I second what most people seem to have said already. I got my iPad mini at Christmas and I really love it but I do often find myself wondering whether it could be a little bit faster. Also owning an iPhone 4 and a rMBP I also yearn for it to have a Retina display...oops I said it too. But yeah, faster and Retina display. If the next one has those I'll upgrade and hold onto it for a few years. But mostly looking to replace my iPhone at this point, bring on the 5S!

Build in IR blaster (as I wanted on iPad1 all those years ago!)
So we can control items (normal items normal people already own) with the iPad Mini

TV's, Hifi Systems, DVD players, Video projectors etc etc etc.

Probably cost to fit = 1 dollar

Or put the speakers on the longer sides towards the corners so your hand doesn't cover any of them in landscape or portrait

4 speakers is probably being over hopeful and would never happen.

I await the day, Apple finally stops being "Apple" and actually accepts other makes may just have better ideas and put a speaker at either end.

In landscape (games/movies/audio editing) you will finally be able to enjoy stereo (checks we are in 2013 and not 1913)

In Portrait then you would just get better sound. They could set it, so combine the left/right channels and simply put mono thru the top/bottom speaker in Landscape and Switch to Stereo in Portrait.

They will fit 2 speakers one day. they are just being "Apple" about it.

Meant to edit out the 802.11ac. And yes the iPad mini does have stereo speakers - one on either side of the lightning connector.

Then let me edit my wish to more accurately say I wish we had speakers on both sides of the device to improve sound

1. Better than retina display--the new Nexus 7 renders retina sooo...2012.
2. True GPS (86 the cell phone tower triangulation close but no cigar crap).
3. 2 GB standard.
4. Much better processor.
5. Slightly smaller form factor with same screen size.
6. Vastly improved camera.
7. Stereo speakers.
8. Frosting on the cake: a USB port

I know you know this. But Apple will never add a USB port :)

Just had to say it. #

- Retina
- 2Gb RAM (all android tablets, sold today, have this amount of RAM)
- Bigger battery even if it makes the iPad Mini thicker
- WIFI AC
- A6X (28nm version)/A7 with PowerVR SERIE 6 ROGUE GPU (stop recycling the Serie 4...)
- 5/8MP rear camera / 720P front camera
- A better GPS
- Disk capacity starting from 32GB to 128Gb
- New 32Gb iPad Mini's price = former 16Gb Ipad Mini's price
- a faster charging module

You know what I want on iPad Mini 2? Something nobody's thought of yet. I dont know what that is, but something that will make us feel like Apple is once again ahead of the pack...

The iPad mini already has that.

It's not nearly as bad on my iPad as it is on my iPhone, but there are some micro scratches. I'm not sure if this is down to better anodisation or the fact that a tablet doesn't usually face as much abuse as a phone that goes in a pocket.

Same specs as iPad 5

In the smaller form factor. Curent mini is just the poor relations to iPad.

First on the list is retina of course, that alone is the thing the next mini MUST have. Next would be processor/RAM bump, the current mini is def lacking in horsepower. Next I'd say trim the bezels more, I'm sure people will argue but the current mini is just too big to easily fit in most pockets. I currently have one coat the mini fits in comfortably which is useless as its summer now. If they could trim as much off the existing bezel as possible I think it'd fit in more pockets easier. Isn't portability the whole point of the mini?

It wasn't meant to be put in pockets.

It wasn't meant to be put in pockets.

Thank you for that.
Actually the entire point of the mini is enhanced portability over the larger iPad. So unless you carry a bag around with you everywhere (which vast majority of guys don't) the only more convenient place to carry it is in your pocket. One could make the argument that the mini really isn't that much more portable than the bigger iPad since neither fit in a pocket and need to be carried either in your hand or in a bag. I had hoped the mini would fit so it would be more convenient to carry around with me however it ends up sitting at my home or office just as much as my iPad 3 did since it's just a little to big to fit in a pocket.

Depends on your pocket. It fits into my pockets (white lab coat and certain surgical scrubs), which is why my regular iPad stays at home and the iPad Mini accompanies me every day.

I'm not against the idea of trimming the bezels even more, though. I don't think it would make the Mini any more pocketable than it currently is, but the side bezels are already thin enough that it's very difficult to hold the device from the side by the bezel alone. Eliminate them nearly completely and I'd guess that it wouldn't make much of an impact on usability, but there would be some space and weight savings in the process.

Yea, a little of me wishes they would have gone with 7" instead of the 7.9". That would have made a huge difference in portability. But thats not happening so I guess I better start wearing bigger clothes...:D

To be able to use it as my phone.

I kind of agree. I've always said I want a phone that fits on my pocket, but the amount if time I spend using my phone as an actual hold up to my ear phone is very small. Maybe I could get used to a big phone.
