According to Apples own definition of 'retina' the S3, Nex7,HTC One X and X+, Tab 10.1, etc have all been 'retina' displays.

It's cheap for sure apply buys quality displays but a 9.7 inch android tablet with 25xx by 1600 resolution for like 399$ makes me very hyped

The nook hd + and kindle fire hd + both have excellent displays. I tried one archos tablet, never again.

Root either of the above and you be a happy camper.

Archos are really crappy in terms of quality.

Much better Android tablets out there however I'd recommend sticking with the Nexus line or maybe Samsung tab. Which btw the nexus 10 is 2560 x 1600 which is higher then I guess what is considered "retina"....
