I was wondering if anyone knew when applications such as Pages and Office will be updated for Retina Display. I want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac but worried about the distortion.

My understanding is Lion Mail has not been upgraded but Mountain Lion Mail has. Taking this analogy to Microsoft Office, I wouldn't expect retina display to be added to Microsoft Office until v15. This is a guess on my part and not based on insider info.

I have seen screen shots showing Office 14 on a retina display and there was little difference. I expect that the larger the screen the more fuzzy it looks.

Wrong. Mail app looks beautiful in Lion on MBPr.

I've got no idea when Apple's 'Office' suite will be updated.

Edit: Running at 1680x1050 the MS Office suite is usable, granted it doesn't look as good as retina optimized apps.

PS. I've also found a retina fix for Firefox. Woot =)
