Retina iMac + Boot Camp Windows 8 = low brightness?

I'm seeing a huge, and I mean HUGE - disparity in brightness settings between Windows 8 in Boot Camp and OS X Yosemite. OS X lets the screen go many times as bright as the max brightness in Boot Camp.

Anyone found a workaround for this, yet? It's really quite dim with the lights on...

Had the same problem, just search for brightness in win 8, then click off auto-brightness, and your screen Will light up like never before
