can anyone make a retina version of the iOS 5 startup screen for iPad? the linen wallpaper with white text that just says "iPad". I'd like to use it as a lock screen. thank you.

Bethany can you give these a go in a black or dark grey background?

Here you go. The first two are inverted, so the color (<wht> to <blk>) replace is perfect, but the other colors are also inverted. The second two <wht> is replaced with <blk> but they're not perfect, but the other colors are preserved.

Hey Rodster. After taking a look at all three images you posted, I decided that the first low resolution one would be the most fun.

I've made black & grey wallpapers using it and they seemed to have turned out okay.

Hey Greggie. Since the original image was is in landscape, I've redone it so it can be rotated properly into portrait as well. I also had to reposition a few elements but overall it's still okay. Hope you like it. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thank you for the compliment Victor. I too quickly found the original on the artists website after searching. It was large, but no where near high resolution. Also, as I mentioned earlier it was in landscape and in my opinion didn't look very good when stretched to fit the retina screen in both directions. So, that's why I modified it. No thanks needed from Greggie. I enjoy working on things in my free time.
