The hybrid and the normal SSD is not the same size SSD 7mm hybrid 2,5 inch
and I do not think that the interface is the same ether.

However if you buy the right screwdriver you can swap the current SSD to a SSD with 256 GB or bigger
 
No, you can't fit a 2.5 inch HD in a Retina MBP.

It will fit - there's just no cable to plug it in!

Search the forums for someone who has upgraded their 15" rMBP and offer to buy their 256GB drive.
 
I believe OWC is the only one company making retina display SSD, 2.5" ssd will
not fit and will not work.
