Hello everyone,
I am considering purchasing a second generation Mac Book Pro with Retina Display, and will use it for approximately four years (for High School).

The laptop will have to be purchased right around the time when the Buyer's Guide says that it will be updated, the deadline for purchase being July 31st.

Would it be smart to purchase one now, or to wait last minute until its update?

Thanks,
Peter :)

If the "Buyer's Guide" says it will be updated on July 31st, then this is pure guesswork. The only time when you should wait buying any computer is when there is an upgrade imminent, like generally expected in a week or so. If you need a computer now, buy it now. If you don't need it now, buy it when you need it.

If PC is necessary for you right now then purchase it; otherwise it is better to wait until it gets upgraded!!

Any kind of recent rMBP update projection is speculation, but second quarter of 2013 seems plausible. You almost always get the most computer for your money by waiting, so wait if you can wait.
