Retina MacBook: Expensive, weird, and is the screen really bigger than 11" Air?

My rMB cord from the charge block to the computer is quite a bit longer than the one on my old 11" MBA.

This exact thing came with my macbook in 2008.

It's a standard Apple product and will work on all their charger blocks, including the new rMB, with a removable outlet plug in source. But you're right, I just checked, Apple does not have any in stock. Hmmmm Strange.

I travel internationally and swap the plug blocks on both the rMB and the iPad chargers so the cord should be no different.

That is ridiculous. What could be wrong even with a knockoff product? You can even use that cable just fine (it will just not look as good):

Will this new MacBook be successful or go down as an expensive failure?

Theres not really a chance of that...it's not an Apple Watch. Macbook is just the next logical step of laptops. Laptops are heading this direction anyway whether or not Apple is doing it early.
