Are the speakers on that thing even loud enough to cut through the water?

I bought an old airport express for $35 and a $40 soundbar on clearance at target and it works great. AND i can go into my bedroom and not miss a beat of the podcast/news/whatever AND thanks to airplay i can go downstairs to the kitchen and do the same thing.

Doing the whole house was gradual, but eventually totaled less than $350

I AirPlay from my iPhone in an otterbox case to alter lancing I air 5000 speakers in the bathroom. The iPhone has over 40gb of music in iTunes. No need to expose my rMBP to the risks of a room with water and steam.

Man I've taken my laptops in the bathroom for YEARS! Don't even worry about it. As long as your not taking a bubble bath and taking it in the tub your cool.

I used laptops in bathrooms while I took a dump. During a shower? Not unless said laptop is a Toughbook.

Ive used my macbooks in the shower for years, none have ever failed in any way

I've been showering with my Lenovo laptop for 3 years, Macbook Air for 2 years, and rMBP for the past 10 months without a single problem.

I'm going to go against everyone else here and say that unless droplets of water are condensing on your computer you'll be OK. I do this with my phone almost every day and no issues.

The main issue is that even if you aren't immediately damaging your laptop, you could trip the internal moisture sensors because of all the water vapor in the air while taking a hot shower.

Then if something ever breaks under warranty Apple could refuse service because of the moisture sensors.

Your phone likely does not have a fan drawing large amounts of moisture-laden air throughout it. MacBook on the other hand...
