Retina mbp + 39" Seiki 4K + 2xCinemaDisplays?

    I think so. Search around for the details, this forum should have plenty of people talking about it. But I think HDMI vs TB ports you use and adapters would mean differing refresh rates. I am dubious of using 30Hz for long stretches.

    After researching, I would scope out whatever 4K TVs they have at best buy, then buy some adapters from amazon (return them after the experiment). Test it out, Best Buy should be happy to let you plug in because they might be curious, and you are potentially buying that 4K set (even if you're not). You can buy the display on amazon and return as well, check the fine print though.

    I am quite curious how OS X will handle 4K displays. From what I hear, retina resolution scaling can only be applied to the laptop display. Unless you purchase a perfectly sized display, this could very much affect the usability of your intended workstation. I imagine they will update (they already have the scaling feature built) but I would wait if that's the case.
