Hi,

I plan on purchasing a rMBP when Mountain Lion is out, but I would like to know just how much of an improvement the speakers are. None of my Apple resellers have the rMBP on display so I can't test it for myself.

Does anyone on here have a recent unibody MBP and can compare/describe with a video or description how much better they are?

It seem every other aspect of the rMBP has been investigated, however I haven't found any thread that talk much about the speakers other than they are "better". BTW, I'm not a audio guy, just wondering

Thanks!

I had posted this there, myself - I do not have a 15" to compare to, only 17".

My thoughts...
I spent some time last night comparing the speakers in my 2011 17" to my new rMPB. 17" sounds way better... but the 15" rMBP is good compared to most other 15" laptops.

Not surprisingly, the 15" outputs almost nothing at the lower frequencies - but I think it may sound a little better @ higher freqs. Unfortunately when you compare the two side by side it's a pretty clear win for the 17".

After listening to the 17", it sounds like the rMBP is missing about 20% of the freq range.

(FWIW I did a blind test with 4 different people that were around at the time.)
