Is it possible to control the kind of upscaling that is performed for applications that don't natively support retina DPI? I find the upscaling algorithm very annoying, and would MUCH prefer straight up pixel doubling to the bilinear interpolation that seems to be occurring.

Furthermore, it seemed like pixel doubling is what was being used in Lion, and now after my upgrade to Mavericks, it seems like things are interpolated. Does anyone have any insight into this? Can I turn this off?

Bump. Any ideas on how to control scaling method? I'll go make a post on the Apple Support Communities forum as well and update this thread if I get an answer.
