Please help if you're able. Any assistance would be appreciated.
My previous Mac died a few days ago with no warning.
I have purchased a new one - MacOS High Sierra 10.13.2. However, any emails I'd placed into corresponding "In my Mac" mailbox folders are no longer accessible. There are some important documents among them which I require. Is there a way I am able to retrieve them??

Did you make Time Machine backups of your previous Mac? If you did, you can migrate the information from the backup to your new Mac and that would include all your email. You didn't tell us which Mac you had that died, but you may be able to remove the hard drive and extract the data from it. That is, if the hard drive is still OK.

What chscag is getting at is that the "On My Mac" emails were exactly that...on your Mac...specifically, on the Mac's hard drive. They'd be in your backups, also, if backups exist.

What Mac model is it that "died"?
