I've had it with the new version of Digital Performer. They opened it up to windoze and the place is just about unrecognizable.
I put my G5 back together with the original hard drive and necessary PCI cards and 4 gig of ram to begin with. Hooked up the monitor and mouse and on power up the white light begins blinking twice. That's as far as I get.
I'm guessing it might be the ram. I was lucky enough to drop all for sticks on my flagstone floor. It's the only thing I can think of.
