Hey guys!

I was just wondering if any one knew if I could return my air on Black Friday and repurchase one the same day (like return for a gift card) so I can take advantage of the free 75 dollar apple card they're giving away for ipad sales.

Just curious.

You have to forfeit the $75 card when you return the iPad, if they allow returns on Black Friday at all. Nice try.

Probably not! You may be able to return and purchase another one if they have that model in stock.

According to their policy: To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 14 calendar days of the price change. Please note that this excludes limited-time price reductions, such as those that occur during special sales events (such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Thrifty Thursday… okay, we made that last one up).

Thanks, EDH677 for the clarification. I bought my wife's iPad Air 12 days ago and was wondering the same thing.

Why not just go to the store and tell them what you want. I bet they would issue the $75 card rather than take the return.

i just got back and they let me keep my iPad and gave me a 75.00 gift card

so i called them and they told me the only way to get the 75 is to return your ipad and buy one today again.

i just placed the online order and it said it would send me a 75$ gift card by email. so looks like ill have to do the whole wipe and restore thing all over.

I returned/repurchase my new rmbpro 13" i bought last sunday and got my 150$ GC. They basically didn't give me a new one, just did it on their computer as a return and repurchase the same one. I will use that 150 for ipad air and the extra $50 from the mall for being there early in the morning.

Maybe the mini 2. will see. Or wait for boxing day sales.

I bought an iPad Air at an Apple store recently. I went in today and said I wanted to return it, the salesman asked if I wanted the gift card. I told him I did, so he gave one to me and I kept my iPad

No problem. I'm sure they would rather give a gift card then take the iPad back and go thru the hassle of checking it out and reselling it.

Thought about it and decided not to return/repurchase my iPad Air. Heck, I'd pay $70.00 just to avoid being tied up in Black Friday mall traffic today.

I was able to walk in to the Apple Store, show my email receipt and had no problems getting the $75 gift card.

I'm glad they are honoring this. I don't have one myself but it's just nice to know that Apple did this without a fight.

I went to my local Apple store today and returned and purchased a new one to get my gift card. I was told the cellular models unfortunately had to be returned unlike the wifi ones where they can just give a gift card. No idea if the guy is right or what but its what they said.

I didn't have any issues getting the $75 gift card for the cellular iPad Air i purchased 12 days ago. Didn't need to return and repurchase.

Wow, it's a pretty good that they'll holding up to that. I would have expected them to say no.

I used the opportunity to trade up. Here in the UK, the iPad airs were discounted, so I returned my 64Gb and paid just £19 to get the 128gb instead :)

No issues here getting $75 back for cellular model. At first they were trying to help me do the swap but got stopped at the cellular issue. Manager came and gave me a new SIM card and scanned that into the system and all was done. Returned and rebought my iPad and got gift card.
