Carrier Return iPhone X to switch payment method

Will Apple let you do a return and rebuy your iPhone to switch the way you bought it? I have been thinking of switching from AT&T Next to iUP. Is this possible? I got mine on launch day, so Friday will be 2 weeks.

once you open it, you cant buy it back on IUP!

I might try that. I can’t go until Friday because the closest Apple Store is 45 minutes away without traffic. I might check stock on Friday. Appreciate the help!

if you find it in stock, then buy it and select pickup in store option and then pick it up on friday!

Nope. I switched from full purchase to IUP. I originally purchased full price on apple.com then I went to an apple store and they refunded full purchase and then I bought the same iPhone X with IUP.

But this might not work if original purchase was not from Apple.
