Hi guys,

I got my iPhone XS Max and it is defective. I got it through Apple Upgrade program as an exchange of iPhone X financed through the program.
If I return iPhone XS Max to them and keep my old perfect iPhone X with me what is going to be with my Apple credit? Should I pay them the rest of the amount financed for X or I pay month-to-month for the next year?

Thanks in advce for your help.

If you return the XS Max, as long as it's within 14 days, you will get the refund of the sales tax and the first month of that device credited back to your credit card you used to make the purchase and close out the loan.

Just curious, whats wrong with it?

If you got the max already you would have had to turn in your iPhone X (old) and you can’t get it back... they’ve already sent it in.

What happens when you upgrade on iUP is that you receive your new device and within your 14 day return period you are supposed to mail them your old device with the trade-in kit that they provide. When you don't do this, your old loan remains open and you then start incurring monthly charges for both. So, if you return the new device and keep your old one, your old loan remains open and they refund you the tax + first payment that was charged to you when they shipped your new device. You simply go back to being charged monthly for your old device like you never upgraded.

Thank you very much. It has squeaky body (really squeaky) and poor reception. I tested it on ATT and T-mobile and it gives me 40-50% slower speeds.
My friend also bougt the same model we tested my SIM cards in his phone and it is faster than X

Yes, I still have the old one. Thank you very much for your help.

Update:
I drove nearby of Apple store today and they had iPhone XS max 512 in stock. I preordereded and in 15 min picked it up.

The new iPhone doesn’t squeak, has better than my previous X reception.

I would like to say everyone here thanks for your support and help.

Enjoy your new iPhones :) Peace!

Congrats and enjoy your new phone.. glad you got the one you wanted. I am also glad to hear that the reception issues which I don't seem to have on my Max... isn't happening on all of them.

I have slightly better reception on ATT and better reception and almost 50% faster on T-mobile. I think that Att doesn’t have 4x4 MIMO on my nearest site, while T-mobile has it. So impressed with T-mobile, going to check all my frequent locations and may be switch when yhey offer free line promo. Must admit that T-mobile made very good job last year.

Nice to hear that you were able to get it sorted. Enjoy your new phone. It sure is definitely annoying to hear the creak even if you are not intentionally doing it.
