I cant decide if i should keep refurb mini 2.3 i7 or return it for a refurb 27" imac. I was planning on getting a dell u2713hm display along with my mini, but a part if me is saying i should have just got the imac. Price difference is figured out to be

Refurb mini $720
16gb memory upgrade $150
240gb ssd $200
Dell u2713hm $600
Total $1600

The refurb imac i was looking at was a 27" 2012 i7 with 2gb video for $1999

It would be nice and neater to have everything all in one to save space, less wires etc. is it worth it for $400 extra?

I would return the mini and go for the iMac. It's going to be more powerful and won't cost that much more. Plus it will look amazing on your desk.

Thanks. Do you think the 680 graphics with 2 gb is worth it vs buying a brand new model? I am deciding between the refurbished model i mentioned or a new i5 27" with the 1gb video and fusion for same money. Also, is there a noticeable difference between the i5 vs i7? I dont do anything too extreme. Not into gaming. Maybe some mild video editing and photoshop.

2012 27" 3.4 ghz i7 fusion 2gb graphics
Or
2013 27" 3.2ghz i5 fusion 1 gb graphics

Which one? Both are $1999. Thanks

I would, and did, get the 2012 model. Flash storage is faster on the 2013, but I'm thinking every other aspect is actually better on the 2012 in the comparison above.

I am trying to decide between the same two at the moment as well. I think I am going to go with a Mac mini. I think it will be easier and cheaper to upgrade in the future with just a new CPU rather than the entire setup with the iMac.
