Just picked up an X in Europe the receipt says return until January 8 2018.

Guess today’s the first day of Christmas return policy being in force.

It started on November 15 and ends on December 25. Holiday returns are accepted until January 8.

So if i get my X at the end of the month, I have more than the 14 day return window?

Correct. You would have until January 8 to make the return if necessary.
