Return Policy on Opened iPad

I just bought an iPad last Friday. I have opened and used it. It is still in great condition. Is it still eligible for return opened? With a refresh being announced on tuesday it makes no sense to keep it while within the return window.

Sorry, but it has already been announced that a small refresh will be shown on the 23rd. The lightning connector will be offered, not much else

They should accept it no questions ask. I'll do it, even if they just change the 30 pin connector for a Lightning connector.
