I purchased my 2.3 i7 17" back around August 15th, and since then I have had nothing but problems with my screen and waking from sleep.

My question is this, If I took back my 17" due to this problem, along with the keys being off centered from the casing, would they give me the updated 17"?

Regardless of if they do or not, I will be returning this since my problem lies with the screen turning off for battery conservation and not coming back to life for at least 20 seconds, but most time it refuses to turn on. Also It frequently (when I say that I mean daily) locks up or the screen doesn't turn on but I can still control the backlighting and music.

They will try a repair first and if they need to replace it, you'll probably get the same one until supplies are gone. Highly doubtful you'll get an updated one.

It isn't a big deal, the 6770 is about 5-12% faster and the CPU really isn't going to be noticeable since it isn't the bottleneck.

Also the keyboard issue would require the whole top case where the keys are and all, to be replaced. It's either that or a bigger issue.

But the main problem is the screen refuses the wake up about 70% of the time from display sleep. I have sent about 40-50 reports with comments to apple saying it has to be a firmware problem or something.
