Okay, first of all, I'm an impatient idiot. I've been deeply aware of that for the last two days now.

Now, I ordered a refurb MBP, arrived Monday, then Wednesday the new models were released, blah blah blah. I've arranged to return it to Sydney via courier, but since I have to be in Sydney tomorrow anyway, I was wondering if it would be possible to just return it to the Apple store in George St., get the refund then and there? Has anyone done this before? It'd save a ton of time transporting the old one to Sydney, getting a refund, then waiting however long for a new one to be shipped to Newcastle.

If this question has been answered a million times before (I tried MRoogle-ing it), a link to a relevant thread would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!

EDIT: Thought I should mention that I got the refurb online, and this probably answers my question, but I called Apple and they said that since the online and George St. stores are seperate, they can't do it, but I don't see why not?

Guessing not, but call the store. In the U.S. the stores will not take back refurbs. You have to send them back to Apple.

Call you might get lucky due to the 2-day difference there. Sometimes they don't "pull policy" on you, and make an exception. The longer you wait the less-likely.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Was hoping to save a little time with the return process, but I (hopefully) learned a lesson with all this.

Retail store and the online stores are separate departments and ordering systems, so you can't return an online purchase to a retail store and vice versa.
