Okay, won't open it when I get it, thanks!Yes, return. I think it has to be unopened, they can't resell an opened one, even back to you. Saw that on a thread somewhere.

Check with your local Apple Store to verify. We have a month before we really need to worry about it.Okay, won't open it when I get it, thanks!
I’d like to know this as wellDid anyone ever figure out for certain if you are able to return/rebuy an unopened iPhone on iUP?
FWIW, a local Apple Store employee that it could not be done, because "the IMEI would be burned." But these guys aren't always right.
You have to wait 5 days before reapplying to iUP
I paid online fully and went to the store to repurchase on IUP. The person there said they covered it in training. It was returned as an open item but I just got the same open item back.
You can return and rebuy, but if you are trying to do this with the X, you run the risk of someone else taking your phone. I wanted to switch from the Next program to IUP, and the guy at the Apple store said I could, but I run the risk of when I was returning and applying for the iUP someone could select that Phone for pick up and get. I decided it was not worth it.
Same here. But the guys at the store made sure they had the same one in stock. As soon as they brought out the phone, the rep clicked the “return” button.I returned my X to do exactly that. No issues at all. The lady at the store said the phone was mine, even during that limbo period.
I heard otherwise. If it’s pegged as open item, it HAS to go back to warehouse.
As for the # of days, I’d assume 5 business days.
This is wrong. I returned two opened phones and repurchased them under different conditions (one using IUP, one paid in full). Most definitely does not going back to the warehouse. You get the same phones back.I heard otherwise. If it’s pegged as open item, it HAS to go back to warehouse.
