Hello!

I recently did an Express replacement on my iPhone and I've got a question about the return shipping.

Ive followed the instructions and packed it up in the UPS bag and then it dropped it off at my local UPS point on the 4th of November.

I've been tracking the phone since and from 08:53 this morning it says "UPS is holding the shipment"

I'm not sure why, Apple have sorted the postage.

Im a bit worried its not going to get there in time and then Im going to get charged a late fee. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

They will only charge you if it is postmarked AFTER the date of being late. It's like paying your bills. If it's due on the 15th and is post marked the 15th. It isn't late.

What's nice is Apple will confirm with you by Phone or E-mail when they receive the defective device. They also understand shipping delays can occur.

As long as you can show when it was dropped off, Apple would have to refund any funds.

Are you sure? It was explained to me by Apple years ago, that they cannot process a refund until the device is in their possession. I believe they need specific information to process the refund from the device. I could see Apple granting an extension or not penalizing the customer for carrier delays.

did you get a receipt or anything?

If you have a receipt for dropping it off with Apple's provided label, prior to the expiration date, I do not see how Apple could balk. Apple needs to take it up with the shipping company.

Just. Call ups. They sometimes hold Apple items in a secure area due to value. A quick call will release it. Don't know why it gets stopped.

Its all sorted now. Just had an email to say they have it now! Phew!
