Just because someone offers a negative comment about the new iPad, doesn't mean they are trolling.

I suspect a lot of these people are farsighted and can't appreciate the full effect. It's like people that wear glasses tend to not like 3D movies.

Nonsense. The iPad 3 is the best one to date. Period. Full stop.

ipad 2 had a jailbreak, enough said.
it's also.... thinner
doesn't heat up after 15 mins of high powered gaming
battery life on ipad 2 is way longer
doesn't take 3 days to charge a freakin ipad

Should it matter that nothing that you said here is accurate (except slightly thinner)?

everything I said was accurate.

I may have exaggerated a bit on the time it takes to charge up the ipad 3 but it's slightly shorter than what I said.

3 days = 72 hours. "Slightly shorter" is what, 60 hours? 65 hours? Still not accurate.

Mine lasts all day, gets to about 60% with moderate use (no videos) and charging, while slower only takes a few hours to get back up to 100%. I imagine going from dead to 100% might take a far bit longer, however, in real use I never have that issue.

However, you do have a point in that there are some issues that might take away from LTE, better screen and cameras to the point some folks might want to stay away.

Cheers,

Im with you op. I scored a 64gb 3g ipad 2 for $480 last week and there's no way I can justify getting a 64gb 4g ipad 3 for another $400 just because of the screen and the dictation.

The long charging was the deal breaker for me. I can live with it being a little warmer. I can't work around having on the charger for longer than I can sleep in a day. Lighter, thinner, longer battery is a plus for a heavy traveller, heavy outdoor user as myself.

More nonsense.
It'll be jail broken before you know it.
It's so marginally thicker that you won't notice it.
The unit doesn't heat up any more than similar tablets in its class
They battery life is exactly the same as the 2
It only takes about a half hour to an hour longer to charge and for that you get scads more pixels, a decent camera, a rocking graphics processor, double the RAM and a few more perks.

iPad 3 is clearly the best iPad Apple has made so far.

To me everyone talks about the screen and the ram and all that crap. You really can't tell a difference as I have both. The only reason I got a 3 was LTE! It's screaming fast and Verizon's 3G sucks. That was worth the money to me.

I haven't bought yet for a few reasons. First of all I have an iPad 2 and when I went to the store with my iPad and compared them side by side I didn't think the difference was huge. Yes the iPad 3 has a sharper screen but you have to have apps optimized for it to get the full benefit and at this point not a lot of apps are optimized yet.

But I think the biggest deal breaker is the long charge time. Yes I do charge mine over night but I use it heavily throughout the day and many times I have to "top it off" to get through the entire day. I also have to go on the the road at a moments notice a few times a week. With my current iPad I can charge it for 30 minutes and it'll be enough to get me through the clients visits. I'm afraid it may not be as efficient with the new iPad.

Lastly, I've read a lot of complaints in the forums regarding all different little things that by themselves aren't deal breakers but when put together they give me pause.

With that said I probably will buy it once all the apps that I use are updated in a couple months.

Except mine doesn't heat up after 15 minutes of gaming
Battery life on the iPad 2 is not way longer
Doesn't take close to 3 days (or 2 or 1) to charge the iPad

So 3 out of 4 wrong hardly counts as "accurate".

Most of my apps have already been updated.

What's the benefit of bringing back an iPad 3rd generation for an older model?

The money has already been spent. Let it go and enjoy the new iPad..

I know, I mustn't say anything, since I kept all three of mine.

You know why I returned mine and got a 2 again? Because of the very non uniform screen.

My screen was terrible. I'm not talking yellow tint I'm talking yellow on one side and pink on the other.

I exchanged it 4 times and not one was nice looking. So instead I bought a 64 GB 3G iPad 2 in mint condition and warranty through October for 550.

So for the price of a wifi only 16GB I got the highest storage and 3G. And my screen is uniform. It's amazing!

Trust me I wish I had retina display and LTE. But not bad enough to be in and out of the apple store for exchanges. My time is worth more than that.

I'm returning my iPad 3 and buying back the iPad 2. I feel the new iPad just isn't worth the upgrade. Anybody else doing the same?

I respect your freedom of choice. But when i first read the thread title, my reaction was " WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!"

To be honest I was thinkIng about it too, but a returned my yellow iPad for a perfect one and I am happy I kept it,
I sold my 2 for 325.00 with no warranty so I think I am all set.

I will keep it for a year and upgrade again, I will never go backwards tech moves so fast.

So did you buy refurb from Apple?

I had an iPad 2 that I shared with my wife. I wanted my own so I got the 3. On the first day, I had buyer's remorse - thought that the screen was no big deal.

After the third day, I picked up the 2 and saw that I had become so accustomed to the 3's screen, well there is no going back. The 2's screen looks all pixilated, the 3's screen is sharp and clear. Having that kind clarity on a 10" screen really is resolutionary.

The $100 dollars extra worth it? Absolutely.
