I bought a light grey smart cover and want a different color. I haven't opened it. Bought it online. Can I return/exchange it in store or do I need to send it back to apple?

Not a big deal but curious if I can save myself a trip to the post office.

same thing happened to me. the light grey looks black on the website. WTF apple! i want BLACK BLACK!

So I just walk it into the store? Feels like I'll be doing something wrong cuz how do they know I didn't just take it off the shelf. Is there something else I need to do when returning it?

There's usually someone greeting people at the door. Talk to this person as you walk in. Don't approach someone as you walk away from the wall of smart covers.

so i can walk into the apple store and switch it for another color for free and with no receipt?

Show your invoice, you would have been emailed one, if not, you can use the order number on the website to get a copy of the invoice, use this to return or switch it.

yes, of course. (slight sarcasm, slight seriousness.) I am not condoning theft nor any act of dishonesty, just stating that you CAN do it, (kinda like kids asking teachers in elementary school can i go to the bathroom.)

This is like saying in walmart, couldn't you go to the back of the store, buy something, go to the front, pay for it, then come back with receipt, go to the back of the store, pick it up, back to the front to return at customer service.

Bose headphones, Senheissers (sp?) were subjected to this scam at my local electronic store.

like with everything, they have security cameras and people working there to watch out for this kind of stuff.

kinda like asking if you can just slip that $50 makeup item into ur pocket and walk out.

There are cameras that see everything. No honest man in a western store would be wrongly persecuted since video evidence is key to any charge or conviction.

I just returned my red to the store. Color was not red and I could see black in the red. Looked at others in the store and the stain quality varied greatly.

Got a black on instead.
