Are you returning your Xs/Xs Max for the Xr?

WiFi issues with iPhones and other Apple products is nothing new... with third party WiFi routers. That's exactly why I switched to an all Apple Airport network in my house years ago. All the issues pretty much disappeared when I adopted Airport.

Now that Apple no longer makes Airports, I would strongly lean toward buying other WiFi systems that Apple sells, like the Linksys mesh system.

I have Google WiFi 2 puck system and have had absolutely zero issues with any of my Apple devices on it. I love it and actually think it’s the best router system I’ve owned, and I’ve had a fair few....

I think I’ll have to make another trip to the Apple store once the XR is out, as I believe it will be the only way to see in person all the colours it comes in.

First time posting...

Received the Xs Silver 256gb Friday, opened on Saturday and returned on Sunday.

Its clearly the best phone on the market, the oled screen is amazing, camera captures evrything and its very fast.

I left apple 2 years ago due to increases in price and they got me back.. But 1149 pound is too much, the worry for extra payments on insurance, possible accidental damage was too much.

I couldn't make my mind up on keeping it or not. I am intrigued by the Xr but cant honestly say if I will get it or not.

My favourite iPhone was probably the iPhone 5!

Enjoy the xs if you have it, fingers crossed the Xr will suit people too!

I wish android and apple could combine the best of both worlds.. Maybe someday.

Thanks
If it’s too expensive why did you even buy it in the first place. You knew the price all along:rolleyes:

Most will have seen that video.
And most people have their own mind and can make decisions for themselves without having to listen to a YouTubers comments to decide whether to buy or not.

We know the screen is lower resolution. We know that text may not look as sharp as an OLED or even a Plus model screen.

But some of us like the easier to swallow price for a flagship  device (in terms of internals).
Some of us just like the colour choices.
Some of us like the size as it’s a sweet spot between the smaller XS and the larger Max

Some of us have problems with OLED displays as it can cause eye strain and headaches (doesn’t affect me but feel for those that are affected).

And some of us don’t have to have the latest and greatest device as soon as it’s on the market. Some are also upgrading from a 6/7 - even 8 and want the newer form factor but don’t want to stretch to an XS.

What works for one doesn’t work for everyone else. The XR is an exciting device for a lot of us.

I returned my XS Max due to PWM sensitivity.

Actually went with an 8 Plus because as much as I wanted the XR, too many compromises like worse PPI and no 3D Touch.

If you want, I can link about 20 videos calling the one you posted moronic.
Listen whether the video is moronic or not is one idea, but dont subtract the fact that Xr has several shortcomings. Apple is charging their regular rate, around $750-$850, for substandard phone, which doesn't include some of the technology thats been produced by them for 2-3 years. I am between xs and xs max, but surely wont get Xr (thats just going backwards!) However, I do give apple credit for changing the screen in line with their premium line phones.

Of course it has compromises. It also has advantages.

I am not sure why everyone is so excited for the Xr, take a look at this.
Because that video is moronic and just plain wrong. If you took the time to actually read the thread you are posting on you would see I posted a video debunking that video on page 1, post 1.

There is a separate thread discussing which colors others are interested in for the XR:

That's great. I am asking the people here...

It's not going backwards. And by no means is it "substandard". That is a ridiculous statement. What technology is it missing exactly? The only thing setting it apart is the lack of OLED panel, which if you've read this thread you will see some of us actually prefer.

I've had an OLED screen for years on my Samsung phones. Not a big deal at all. I'll gladly take better battery life over a better screen, especially when it comes to a handheld device that I'd never use as my main means of consuming video content.

I agree. The thought of becoming “immersed” in a video on your cellphone because the screen is just so fantastic is preposterous to me.

In Which case , no one has seemingly replied with an answer to your question, Point is, you clearly were not aware of that thread that Existed, where other members are participating in that thread specifically to discuss the colors for the XR. It was merely a point of reference, which now you know, as well others members who read my post with the link.

Great, thanks for the heads up!

I'm not returning, but I'm waiting on the XR to make a decision on that or XS and XS Max. I'm going to Portland, Oregon next week (tax-free) and buy the XS Max, and by that time, in a week, the XR will be available in-store. I'll be within my 14 days to make a decision on keeping the XS Max or exchanging it for the XR.

This guy is a total moron and he is a click baiter. He’s about making money beating up on Apple. His fans love it. But most of what he says is over the top and not based on real use facts.

I’m torn between blue or white... ;)

I think that white is so nice, but all my cases are on the blue side. Go figure!! I think the bare silver aluminum will hold up better over time too.
