I was just curious about one thing. I had problems with my iphone 3G and the Apple store swapped it out with another one. My question is, are these brand new phones, refurbished ones? It was in the little white box they have at the Genius Bar.
Are all there items they swap out new? Do they take my used iphone ( 1 - week old ) and fix it then resell it?

Just wondering.

Thanks

i've always wondered about this and i can only guess that they do actually do this. i mean what else are they going to do with all the hundreds and thousands of returned 3g iphones?

i think if we pay for a new product and it is defective, then we deserve a new model to replace that, not a used model.

If you receive a replacement iPhone in one of those little unmarked boxes, there is apparently no way to tell whether it is a new phone or a refurbished phone. However, this early in the game, there are currently no refurbished phones available for the 3G. Within a few weeks, there will be a mix.
